it's time to READ
søndag 23. august 2015 at 12:00

Got in a bunch of manga, two books and a cd this week!
From top to bottom it's koi wa ameagari no you ni volume 1 and 2, Shiota-sensei to Amai-chan, Asami-sensei no himitsu and toki wo kakeru shoujo.

The cd is yume no manimani from siinamota and the book is kokuhaku by Minato Kanae.
Yume no manimani is hard to get nowadays but I managed to snag a used copy off amazon.jp! I had to use a proxy seeing as the seller only did domestic shipping but, honestly, it was worth it. Siinamota's works means a lot to me, especially now that he's gone.

I mentioned in my last entry about this series that I had ordered the tankobons, and here they are. I think it's nice to own physical copies of series you like. The Obi on vol 1 features Aoi Honoo, and vol 2 I am a hero.

Opposite order from before, but here are the backs of the tankobon. The manager stays in the back while Tachibana is the cover girl, hah. I don't know what the design for vol 3 looks like yet, but I'm guessing it'll be like this too. I hope there will be a cover of them together someday though....

The inside looks the same as the scans, obviously.

Moe...

Next is Shiota-sensei to Amai-chan. Most of the comics (if not all) are posted on the mangaka's pixiv, but the tankobon has improved art and the text is typed instead of handwritten.

It's a love comedy about the 16 year old high-school girl Amai Yayoi and the teacher Shiota Tsuguharu.

I'm absolutely in love with the mangaka's art style and find the characters very endearing.

It doesn't have any of the usual angst most senseixseito mangas have, except maybe in the last chapter when he's sad about her graduating (except it's a dream but you know)

Relationship goals. I'm starting to feel sad about no longer being a high schooler.....

Then we have these two. I read the first chapter of Asami-sensei in English here, and ended up buying the first volume for some reason. I wish I knew Spanish so I could read their scanlation.
The book is the book behind the movie Confessions, which is one of my favourites. It'll probably take a while to read but I really want to try!

Toki wo kakeru shoujo, better known to us as "The girl who leapt through time"!

I wanted to read the novel, but ended up getting this anime version of the book. Oops. I can still read it, but I can't bring it with me to read on my way to uni etc.

As you can see it features caps from the movie along with the text. It has furigana, so it'll be easier to read!

Hopefully I'll get started on it too. I really hope I can become fluent in Japanese one day....

The cd and kokuhaku are from amazon.jp (used tenso as proxy) and everything else is from yesasia!

love is like after the rain
onsdag 5. august 2015 at 18:32
Today I by chance stumbled upon a website with loads of raws for light novels, magazines and manga. I'm guessing it's actually a fairly well known website but I'm not used to searching for DLs as opposed to using online readers. And, wow, I happened to see koi wa ameagari no you ni (恋は雨上がりのように) when browsing the manga list! I ordered both volumes after I read the first scanlated chapter but they still have yet to be shipped, so I decided to download them anyway. Guess I'm both a pirate and a legal supporter now.

There's something about this mangaka's art that is oddly familiar, but I can't pin-point just what it is. Maybe I've seen them draw fanart before? It's actually happened to be a couple of times. Once I bought some random BL manga in Japan and thought the art looked familiar and turns out they've made some kawoshin doujinshi! After I bought Sneaky Red I found out I'd been following the artist on tumblr for a while before I even knew they were a mangaka.

Koi wa ameagari no you ni is a about a high-school girl named Akira Tachibana who used to be on the track team (I guess that's what it is) and works part-time at a family restaurant. She also happens to be in love with her 45-year old boss.

She's only 17 so that's quite the age difference! But if you've read chapter 1 which has been scanlated in English, then you can tell that her manager thinks she's disgusted by him.

In the next chapter a child is sitting in the staff room as Tachibana comes to work and she asks about it. Her coworker says "Aah..... That kid? It's the manager's child" which apparently comes as a shock to our dear Tachibana.

Girl he was 28 when you were born. Him having a child is to be expected. He asks her if she's okay and she replies that she is.

She has the whole "cool beauty" theme down but she can be really cute as well.

And honestly what is a manga without one of those goddamn clothes sniff scenes. I will literally never understand why they do that, I mean if I liked someone I wouldn't go around sniffing his gym clothes or boxers or shirts in general. It's creepy. (And awkward if they get caught which they ALWAYS DO!)

Don't do it Tachibana
I swear to God
I want to judge her for liking him but I really can't. We're all the same in the oyajicon group.

As of these two volumes, they have yet to start dating but they do go see a movie together in vol 2. And she confesses to him multiple times.... he's really dense.

(JK = Joshi kousei aka high-school girl) "This (the JK) is a fake. Because if it was a real one it would have been a crime" and the signs say things like "suspension of business" "crimindal indecency" and I'm not 100% sure how to phrase the last one but it's something along 'obscenity against minors'.

So he's obviously worried about his age!

That doesn't stop her from doing this, though.

I don't really know where I was going with this but please give it a try if you like age gaps.

I won't link the place to download the raws but here are some places where you can buy the tankobon that ship internationally. yesasia / amazon.jp

The third one will be released in September! I am so pumped for this.

pripara 3ds game
at 08:24
People who already know me should know by now that I'm very fond of pripara (and children's series in general). So, why not make an entry about the new game.

Pripara has earlier been in a 3ds game crossover with the main/older series, Pretty Rythm. But, this October the series will get its own game, "Pripara mezase! Idol grandprix no.1!". The physical copy will cost 5400 yen and the digital download 4900 yen. I'll be preordering it so I'll probably get it around November. (Darn these shipping times). It's up for PO on yesasia now, and will probably pop up on play-asia later. I prefer yesasia though because they have free shipping.

The promo art from the game website is adorable! Although a lot of the pripara outfits have awful colour combinations (looking at you, Mireille), it's one of the few truly colourful series I like so I find it charming.

You'll be able to design/edit the outfits! Aaah! And I'm glad they're compatible with the pripara arcade machines. I wasn't into pripara the last time I was in Japan so I didn't get to try, but I swear I'll do it at least once after I move!

I'm really fond of how the machines look. Too bad I'm kinda tall for Japanese standards, so it would be slightly uncomfortable for me to use them.
Here's a video with just the gameplay. I wonder how they managed to get a screencapture from an arcade machine...

okay let's try this again

I finally decided to give blogger another try so I could have a place where I can talk more about anime/manga/games/drama/books in detail with screencaps etc.

I'll probably also use it for art and photography/personal blogging.

Now, if only I could find a nice theme....

Fun fact: I chose this blog's username, shuuden (終電) , because my main blog for the past 5 years is called "the last train". It's only in Norwegian, though.

See you later! I wonder how long I'll be able to keep this up.

edit august 23rd 2015: changed url to senseicon to give a better image of who i am as a person hahah
