Hello! I sat up until 5 AM reading about web design and web hosting yesterday. Guess I'll figure out how to make my portfolio site eventually.
Today I got a new box of manga in the mail!
8 volumes of manga + one novel. I was so excited about this finally getting here so I could read the third volume of koi wa ameagari no you ni. I can't wait for the 4th one...
The novel is "Boku wa ashita, kinou no kimi to date suru" by Nanatsuki Takafumi. I don't know much about it, but it was on the romance bestseller list on amazon. Seems to be about time travel and stuff, so it'll be an interesting read. The manga is "Hatsukoi rakuen" by multiple authors. It says it's a "betsukomi best selection". It contains 7 one shots from the authors Risa Konno, Kanoko Sakurakouji, Haruka Fukushima, Natsumi Seki, Ringo Komori, Hiro Haruna and Chiyori. I haven't read it yet but I'm looking forward to it.
"Itoshi no nekokke - otoru hen" by Haruko Kumota. It's a prequel to the original Itoshi no nekokke series and it honestly breaks my heart... The art is gorgeous though, I definitely recommend the series if you're okay with BL. The next is "Hana wo meshimase" by Keiko Iwashita.
Then I got the two books from the original itoshi no nekokke I still haven't read (aka they haven't been scanlated yet.) These two have a really strong "manga smell" and make me feel like I'm back at animate looking through the huge BL selection.... I miss animate and book-off so much.
More BL. I love both of these artists so much. There are so many good BL mangakas? The one on the left is "Blood Sugar Sex Magic" by Ido Gihou and the other "Shirusareshi ai" by Tanato. I bought Tanato's Sneaky Red by chance last year and fell in love with their art. I think I mentioned that in an earlier entry though.
Gihou's art is really cute. I've read a bit of their other other manga "yasashiku oshiete" as well.
Then it's time for my number 1 love, koi wa ameagari no you ni! This is the only one I've already finished reading. It was good! The manager gets a hamster and becomes the centre of attention at work and Tachibana finds a new interest in classic literature as to get to know the manager better.
I could probably give a detailed recap of everything that happened but this isn't the place for that.

Hello! Time to make a more personal entry for a change. My mom's currently visiting because I am too much of a wuss to go to the embassy by myself. So, today started with us heading down to the Japanese embassy building. I had earlier talked to my Japanese teacher about having some documents translated, and she told me to go ask them first, so.... I did.
The embassy was.... really scary, in my opinion. First we had to have our bags checked and pass through a metal detector. Then we had to wait for a while. The room had a whole lot of Japanese books and a table with magazines and leaflets for various Japanese movies being shown in Norway and info about Japanese universities. I couldn't stop staring at the Hatsune Miku magazine though. Why was it there, I don't get it.
An old lady showed up after we had sat there a while. We had to talk to her through a glass and it felt like some sort of interrogation? She couldn't speak Norwegian and it didn't seem like she spoke much English either. In other words, communication was tedious. We eventually managed to get it through that we needed to have a document translated, but she said she couldn't help. I ended up getting a list of translators instead. But, my teacher said she could help me if they couldn't so I guess I'll go to her then!
Then afterwards we stopped by a kaffebrenneriet and got some hot chocolate and a cookie before visiting the july 22nd memorial center. The center is located in the government quarter, aka where the bomb went off july 22nd 2011.
The center consisted of several "small" rooms. The first one was a square shaped room with portraits of all the victims, most of them teenagers, lined up on the walls.
The main room had pictures of the chaos after the explosion on one wall and a timeline of everything that happened that day on the longest wall. It even included a bunch of tweets from people who knew people on the island and confused/concerned people. In the middle of the room was the remains of the car that contained the bomb and a collection of cameras and phones left behind on the island. The rest of the rooms had pictures of the flower march and the trial. They also had the culprit's fake police badge and items he kept in his pocket. Seeing something he's touched felt odd, if not disturbing. Just seeing his face disgusts me. I hope he rots in jail forever. You could also see a video of survivors talking about what they experienced. It sounded like something from a movie. Having to walk over piles of bodies, seeing your friends die... Absolutely horrible.
After having seen everything we headed to the shopping street to look for some things. We ended up bumping into Maren, Emy & Pam by chance. Awkward.... now they've met my mom!
We later headed up to Grünerløkka to get some food. We ended up going to Mathallen! I hadn't been there before but it was really cool! There was a Japanese shop there so we bought some dorayaki and a daifuku. Unfortunately, the shop we wanted to grab dinner at could only accept cash because of some technical issues, and uhm who even carries cash nowadays? so we had to go somewhere else. We ended up getting crêpes.
We then ended the day by seeing Bølgen at Ringen kino. It was better than I thought it was going to be? Could obviously have been better but I enjoyed it. Making disaster movies in tiny countries like this can't be easy.
It'll probably be out with English subs eventually.

Hello! Today I tried bringing up the topic of anxiety/depression medication to my therapist and it looks like we might be getting somewhere this time.
That is, however, not the topic of todays entry.
I got the Anzu Futaba scale from the series the idolm@ster: cinderella girls by kotobukiya (mfc) a while ago but I didn't open her until now. We're in the middle of rain season right now so the lighting isn't the best and the pictures are kinda grainy!
The box is pretty cute. Rather plain.

The rabbit shaped window is nice though. It reminds me of her plushie.
Here she is in all of her neet glory. I only got her with the default face even though the exclusive sleepy-looking one was a lot cuter. Anzu is very relatable in a sad way, and she's absolutely adorable so I had to get her.
I wish I could wear pajamas every day too...
"Hataraitara, make" — if you work, you lose. I want one of these t-shirts too to be honest.
The stuffed rabbit doesn't look as tattered as usual, but that's probably for the best. Gotta give it some rest you know.
All the details on the folds near her butt though... I wish this sculptur could come sculpt me a new butt to be honest.
Her loose t-shirt hangs off, exposing her shoulder super slob style, or some might find it sexy or something.
All in all I think she's very cute. I'm not that into im@s to be honest, but I really like Anzu's design. Or, actually, I'm very fond of almost all the cinderella girls' designs. I downloaded the phone game Starlight Stage not too long ago and I haven't played much but it looks pretty good! I should probably finish the anime soon, too. I'm at ep 5 or something ahah. Fake fan #1.
OH! Another P5 trailer released as I was writing this! Looks good, I'm pumped!

Hello! Today it's time to talk about one of the many figures I've received recently. As you can probably tell by the title, it's the recent Hachikuji prize figure by Taito. (MFC)
I ordered it a couple of months before the preview pictures were up, and got genuinely worried when they first posted them because the figure looked really bad! You can't expect prize figures to have good quality but the colours looked awful.
Thankfully it's not that bad in person!
Here's the front and one of the sides of the box. The back looked about the same as the front except a bit more simplistic.
It's made to fit together with a Shinobu figure which has yet to be released.
Now to the figure itself.
Here she is! Doesn't look too bad, does it?
There are a few deviations from the illustration re: the hand and eyes, and I don't know what's going on with the donut. And I'm still not too fond of how they did her eyebrows as they sometimes get hidden by her bangs. (See the box art if you want to know what I mean)
There are a few mistakes in the paint-job but it doesn't really matter considering how cheap it was.
She's cute from the side too! But...
Paint smearsssss.... Her collar and her uniform looks sweet though.
Further back there's the name-tag on her backpack! Looks pretty good. Then the other side.
A teddybear stuffed in her backpack's side pocket! Didn't notice the dust on her hair until after I'd opened all the files in photoshop but I couldn't be arsed to edit it off. Sorry.
All in all it could have been better but I'm not disappointed with the figure. I'm not too fond of prize figures in general, but I really love both Hachikuji and Shinobu so I wanted to get them. I haven't preordered the Shinobu one yet though, I'd like to actually wait for pictures this time. I ordered it from BiJ, by the way.
